Dust-free floor sanding – Traditional sanding – Floor colors Duraseal and Bona – Varnishes for your floor – Floor sanding procedure
“…As for dust, forget it! Thanks to the standard sanding process with bagged sandblasters, you’ll only suffer from 5 to 10%. Or not at all, if you call on the services of a contractor – a rarity, after all – who specializes in “100% dust-free” sandblasting. “So there’s no need to stay away for days on end…”…
In fact, the equipment consists of avant-garde Swedish sandblasting and polishing units (Bona) to which a hose is connected to a “central”, remote vacuum unit that collects all the dust. Without leaving any behind”…

Bona varnishes for your floor
Floor sanding procedure
Before refurbishing your floors
- We recommend painting beforehand, as floors remain fragile for around 30 days.
The risk of damaging your floors with ladders is very high, and you’ll need to touch up paint on baseboards and stairwells. - Remove furniture in rooms where floors will be sanded.
- You can leave your food in your cupboards and refrigerator with no problem; our products are environmentally friendly and odorless.
(except for crystal products, which must be emptied). - Our sandblaster operates on 220 volts, so you’ll need to free up your stove or dryer plug.
During sandblasting
- Sanding your floor takes approximately one or two days, depending on the method and product used (the application of stain, if applicable, and the surface area to be treated are factors to consider).
- We recommend that you provide a place to sleep during the work (traditional floor sanding only).
- Never open doors or windows while the crystal varnish is drying, as air currents can cause particles to settle in the varnish during the longer drying time.
- NEVER WALK ON THE FLOOR OR STAIRS UNTIL 4 TO 8 HOURS AFTER THE LAST COAT OF SYNTEKO LATEX VARNISH HAS BEEN APPLIED.
FOR CRYSTAL, WAIT 24 HOURS AFTER THE LAST COAT.
After floor sanding
- Before replacing the furniture, wait for the varnish to dry.
- Always set furniture down, not drag or pull it across the floor.
During the first four weeks, pay particular attention to the floor, as the varnish finish is not yet fully cured.
Wait 1 month before replacing carpets or rugs, and before washing your floors.
Otherwise, it will stick to your varnish. - If you have a pet, you may find hair in the varnish on your floor.
